Exciting George Scott-trained three-year-old set for French foray on Sunday after missing Royal Ascot

George Scott will send his leading three-year-old Bay City Roller on a first foreign assignment on Sunday to tackle the Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud, in which he will avoid a penalty for his Group 2 win at Doncaster last year.
The son of New Bay went unbeaten in three runs as a juvenile in 2024, most notably when landing the Champagne Stakes on Town Moor, and made a pleasing return to action when finishing second to the classy Opera Ballo in the Listed Heron Stakes over a mile at Sandown last month.
Beaten two and a half lengths there under a 5lb penalty, Bay City Roller will now step up to a mile and a quarter for the first time in France in a Group 2 contest which was last won by a British runner in 2022 by My Prospero.
Scott said: "We were very pleased with Bay City Roller's comeback run at Sandown over a mile, before which we said we'd wanted to run him in the longer term over a mile and a quarter on some decent ground."

Bay City Roller had options at Royal Ascot last week, when stablemate Caballo De Mar finished second in the Copper Horse Stakes, but Scott decided to wait.
He said: "We skipped Royal Ascot, where the ground would have been quick enough and the only option over a mile would have been the St James's Palace Stakes.
“Otherwise, we'd have had to have gone up to a mile and a half, but we picked out the Prix Eugene Adam, where he doesn't carry a penalty for his Group 2 win last year. Hopefully, he'll be able to run on some nice ground over there and it will be interesting to see who turns up. Callum Shepherd knows him best and will take the ride."
