Joao Pedro latest transfer odds: Newcastle looking to swoop for Seagulls star
Joao Pedro enjoyed another productive season with Brighton and looks to be in demand. We look at his possible destinations this summer.

Brighton have made a name for themselves by unearthing gems from abroad before selling them on for much higher fees – see Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister and Yves Bissouma – but Joao Pedro is, unusually, a player they picked up from another English side.
The Seagulls acquired the Brazilian from Watford in 2023, paying just under £30 million for his signature. However, despite splashing out a big fee, they should still make a healthy profit if they choose to cash in this summer.
An impressive record of 25 goals and nine assists in 64 Premier League and Europa League games has seen Brighton slap a £60 million price tag on their star forward. That hasn't put off two of the Premier League's biggest spenders, though, and we shine a light on Pedro's potential suitors below.

Where will Joao Pedro be after the summer transfer window?
The £60 million price tag set by Brighton will have been enough to scare off a few clubs but not Newcastle or Chelsea, who both look ready to spend their riches this summer in order to put together a title charge.
The Magpies are leading the way for Pedro's signature, potentially seeing him as a perfect partner for Alexander Isak in the front three, rather than a replacement. Chelsea, meanwhile, have already signed Liam Delap this summer, but Nicolas Jackson's struggles mean they may not be done with signing strikers just yet.
Liverpool have been linked with the player in the past and could look to make a move, especially if Darwin Nunez departs, while Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United feature alongside the Saudi sides towards the head of the market.
Joao Pedro – club after summer transfer window
Club | Best odds | |
---|---|---|
Newcastle | 10-11 | The Magpies almost signed Pedro in 2022 and could reignite their interest |
Chelsea | 5-2 | Pedro has supposedly mentioned that he would like to live in London and the big-spending Blues may pounce |
Liverpool | 14-1 | With Nunez likely departing, the Premier League champions could do with another young forward |
Aston Villa | 16-1 | The Brazilian's versatility would make him a great fit in Unai Emery's system |
Tottenham | 16-1 | Heung-Min Son is past his best and Spurs will soon need to replace his output |
Any Saudi club | 16-1 | The Saudi sides will have no issue in matching Brighton's big price tag for Pedro |

Outside bets to be Joao Pedro's next club
Liverpool are one to keep an eye on when it comes to the big-priced teams in the market. The Reds seem ready to cut their losses on Nunez and signing another player capable of slotting in up front or out wide, with the added bonus of also being a capable attacking midfielder, would be a smart move.
There are rumours the Premier League champions are interested in Newcastle's Isak. However, the Magpies, who also want Pedro, are unlikely to give up their star player easily and the Reds could look towards Brighton's Brazilian, who shares plenty of the same skills and characteristics as the Swede, as an option if a move fails to materialise.
Our verdict: Pedro to stay put for now
Although a move to Chelsea or Newcastle would make perfect sense, Pedro may enjoy one last season on the south coast before moving on next year.
The Brazilian missed the final five matches of the season after receiving a red card against Brentford in April. He will, therefore, have a point to prove and there is every chance the talented forward, who netted ten goals and provided six assists in just 27 Premier League games this term, adds another few pounds to his price tag with another stellar campaign next season.
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler hinted that the Brazilian is still in his plans, stating: "Joao is still a young player and there's still a lot of potential where he will grow, and I'm sure that he will learn from this and come back strong next season."
Pedro is an attractive price to remain at the Amex and it could pay to back him to do so.
Market movers
There has been plenty of movement in this market. Chelsea were 2-1 favourites to sign Pedro at the start of the month and while their price (now 5-2) hasn't changed much, Newcastle have gone from 5-1 to 10-11 to usurp the Blues at the head of the market in a matter of weeks.
Liverpool and Manchester United's odds have been pushed out wildly, going from 6-1 and 8-1 to 14-1 and 20-1 in that same time period, while the price for any Saudi side to sign Pedro has doubled to 16-1.
