2025-26 Premier League fixtures: Key dates, opening weekend and betting odds

The Premier League 2025-26 season will begin on Friday, August 15, with Liverpool vs Bournemouth at Anfield.

The Anfield opener forms part of a tough start to the Reds' title defence. Arne Slot's side have to travel to Newcastle the following weekend before then welcoming title rivals Arsenal to Merseyside, and they also play Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United in their first eight fixtures.

Arsenal, too, have not been handed an easy introduction by the fixture computer. 

The Gunners, who have been runners-up in the last two campaigns, start their bid to go one better against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the biggest game on the opening weekend and also play Liverpool and Newcastle on the road and welcome Nottingham Forest and Manchester City to the Emirates before the end of September.

Of the title favourites it is City who will be perhaps most pleased with their opening set of fixtures.

Pep Guardiola's side, who are 9-4 second favourites to regain the title from Liverpool, begin their bid at Wolves and face only one side who finished in the top four last term, Arsenal, before a home date with the champions on the second weekend of November.

The Citizens' schedule includes an early Manchester derby date with United immediately after September's international break.

The three promoted clubs have been relegated in each of the last two campaigns but Burnley, Leeds and Sunderland could certainly have faced stiffer opening assignments. 

Burnley are 15-2 with bet365 to win at Europa League winners Tottenham on the first Saturday of the season, but Sunderland are a 9-4 chance at home to West Ham on the same day while Leeds are 8-5 to beat Everton at Elland Road when they conclude the opening round in the first Monday night fixture.

There are no top-flight fixtures scheduled for Boxing Day at present but the Premier League has said that matches slated for Saturday, December 27 can be played a day earlier if selected by broadcasters, who will be able to show all matches outside of the Saturday 3pm blackout live for the first time because of the new TV deal coming into effect.

The 2025-26 Premier League season will conclude on Sunday, May 24.
