Key trends
Other factors
Since Bach in 1999, only four winners have previously scored over 7f – September in 2017, Point Lonsdale in 2022, last year’s winner Bedtime Story (all trained by Aidan O’Brien) and the 2023 winner Snellen.
The record of fillies is 3-35 – with Bedtime Story winning last year.
BEDTIME STORY was one of the most impressive winners of the meeting when landing the Chesham by nine and a half lengths. The daughter of Frankel was successful on her debut at Leopardstown less than three weeks before and scooted clear of her rivals on this quicker ground to score with lots in hand. She was cut to 3-1 favourite (from 14) for the 1,000 Guineas after the success but was beaten on her final two starts at two and did not run in the Newmarket Classic this year. The form of this race has not worked out well.
