The Wathnan way - it might be expensive but my goodness is it delivering!

It is accepted wisdom that Royal Ascot winners are exceptionally hard to come by, however much money you spend – just ask Kia Joorabchian – but Wathnan Racing appear to have unlocked something of a cheat code.
In just three years, Wathnan have amassed a staggering 11 winners at the royal meeting. And they have done so by taking a very different approach to most.
In 2023, Gregory won the Queen’s Vase and Courage Mon Ami took the Gold Cup. Both horses were having their first start in Wathnan silks having been purchased privately from established owner-breeders Normandie Stud and Anthony Oppenheimer.
