Living up to his name: 27-race maiden Change Of Fortune gets off the mark as Bernard Llewellyn bags one-two-three

Change Of Fortune, who had not won in 27 starts spanning more than three years, lived up to his name to lead home a one-two-three for his small yard.

The 49-rated six-year-old, trained by Bernard Llewellyn, was sent off 11-2 having finished second for a third time when previously seen at Wolverhampton earlier in the month. But his moment finally arrived in the mile handicap, with Elizabeth Gale pushing him out to win by three lengths from stablemates King Of The Dance and Scarfo. He was Llewellyn's third winner of the season. 

Kublers continue fine form

Daniel and Claire Kubler made it three winners in three days as Arctic Dawn landed the 7½f maiden under David Egan.

The Blue Point four-year-old boasted some solid form despite himself going winless in eight previous starts, including a fourth place in a 21-runner handicap at York last month. However, he stayed on in the testing conditions here to win by a length and a half.

Egan was riding his seventh winner for the Lambourn-based training partnership, who were continuing their great run after victories for Miss Dolly Rocker at Goodwood on Friday and Helm Rock at Haydock on Saturday.

"It was testing out there, you need to give your horse a chance to get there in the last two [furlongs] and they weren't going fast over the line," Egan told Sky Sports Racing.

"He was the yardstick and I felt they needed to step up to beat him. He was a worthy favourite and he obliged."
